I'll be using it for a bit of everything. Aready used it at fort bill red route descent and world champs XC course. It's a class all rounder. I could do with bigger forks to really get it up to speed on downhills though..

Cheers, but it's not finished yet, I'm just waiting for some spokes so I can build a Yellow DeeMax rim onto a yellow Nukeproof front hub. I have a Deemax wheel for the rear already..

The wheels I have on there are temporary, they're rubbish! really weak..

Ha Ha! Damn, is yours a one off too? How did that happen?! Can't be too many of these about. Maybe just one in each continent? And for the record, I didn't crash, so I returned it in mint condition!

Hmmm... I'm interested. If you drop them in a work for me to look at some time I'd really appreciate it.

That's a bummer! What's the dent on top of the tube, crash damage? Hope it gets sorted..

Hell yeah! I remember those, white rims, red Hope Big'uns. Had them on my Plummet and my Turner. They'd snap rocks in half!

I reckon the next one in the sequence was better..? Anyway, another photographer that posts 20 pics of everyone else and none of me.. I wouldn't want anyone thinking I was bitter or anything..!

They're on Evans' website. Nah, they've learned from all of the flak they received from the fashion victims. And I've still yet to see a snapped Session. A dent does not necessarily reduce structural strength. In many cases it actually increases it! When Intense started to spec 5th element shocks to the M1 back in the day, the piggy back fouled the frame. So if you bought a 5th element shock as an after market upgrade, you had to send your frame back to the factory so that they could hit (sorry, 'modify') it with a hammer and form a dent to accommodate the shock. They found that this new form increased strength and all subsequent models had a 'concave structure' (or dent!) at that point on the frame! Not a lot of people know that.. lol. Never believe the hype, make your own mind up.

I hate it when that happens! It happened to me during the Fort Bill endurance DH race after I'd crashed on the cable! I gradually had less and less gears until I only had 9th for the flat pedally bits in the trees! Not good....

Thanks! I'm not sticking to parts just from that era, I want it to be as good as it can be but by using components which fit in with the intended use of the bike. Keeping it real, so to speak!

Yeah, I reckon it's worth waiting for. A lot more attention to detail, lower center of gravity and a coil shock. It's a winner!

It is possible to fit discs and I did think about it but V-Brakes are much more in keeping with the spirit of the bike. This frame is circa 1991 so I'm never going to ride it too hard. An for that, V's have all the power I need.

I reckon it's probably because the Bass is primarily a DJ/slopestyle bike and since it has a BB pivot, it can lend itself well to singlespeed, which as you know cuts down on mechanicals for that kind of riding. I'm sure there'll be other models with gears once all of the 2010 bikes eventually surface, or at least a dropout with a mech hanger.
